Research Intern - WPI Early Research Experience in E-Term

The Early Research Experience in E Term (EREE) program offers a first research experience to interested students who have not yet had an authentic research experience. We will provide current first and second-year students an initial immersive research experience with a WPI faculty mentor. The goal of this program is to create pathways to deep and meaningful research experiences in STEM fields for undergraduate students, especially those from traditionally underrepresented groups in STEM including underrepresented minorities, first-generation students, transfer students, and women.

The First Generation Peer Mentor Program grew out of a desire to provide direct support and mentorship opportunities between first-year first-generation students and upper-class first-generation students. The goal of the First Generation Peer Mentor Program is to help first-year first-gen students establish relationships with a peer and create a network of relationships with WPI (resources, faculty and staff, and other peers). Mentors will help mentees develop strategies to be successful academically, socially, and personally, ultimately helping first-year first-generation students foster an increased sense of belonging to the WPI community.
